July August Weather in Maldives

Question: Thinking of taking a large family to one of the islands for two weeks at the end of July into August. Am I mad?

Is there any difference in the weather between the atolls. Looking at Meeru and also Bijadoo and Chaaya Island Dhonveli. Any recommendations - have a 2 yr old, 5 yr old, 10 yr old and a 16 yr old he and us are certified divers. Please help.
