Maldives Weather in May

Hi. Me and my fiance really want to go to the Maldives for our Honeymoon, but have done some research and found out that May is the start of the rainy season. We don't mind if it rains for a couple of hours here and there, as long as we still get a tan we are happy! Have previous May's been really bad weather wise? Is it worth taking the risk as the prices are cheaper in May? Is there a particular region in the Maldives where the weather is likely to be better? Please help!
